 shop\n\nReferent:Prof. Dr. Goran Glavaš (Universität Würzburg)\nThis in
 troductory course provides participants with an overview of the field of N
 atural Language Processing (NLP). NLP\, which is located at the interface 
 of computer science and linguistics\, enables machines to "understand" and
  interpret human language\, which forms the basis for a variety of modern 
 NLP applications\, from conversational AI agents to machine translation. T
 he session will be split into two parts: theoretical and practical. The th
 eoretical part will cover key concepts in NLP from basics on tokenization\
 , stemming and part-of-speech tagging over text classification and cluster
 ing to dense text representations (i.e.\, embeddings) and neural language 
 models. In the second part\, the participants will see concrete examples (
 in Python) on how to train a text classification model and how to use pret
 rained neural text encoders to get semantic representations of text. Final
 ly\, we will demonstrate the concept of cross-lingual transfer\, that is\,
  the usage of a model trained on data in one language (e.g.\, English) for
  making predictions in another language (e.g.\, Chinese).\nDer Workshop fi
